Case presentation guidelines — selected cases

Selected cases are presented before the expert panel on Day 2, in the adult and paediatric streams.

  • Present the case as an unfolding problem: history and examination first, then investigations, then your differential — pausing for panel input before revealing the outcome. Do not open with the diagnosis.
  • Keep to the time allocated in your acceptance letter and be prepared for the panel to interrupt with questions. This is a discussion, not a lecture.
  • Maximum 12 slides. De-identify every image and every document.
  • If your case is unresolved, state your specific question to the panel clearly on your second slide.

Judged on: teaching value of the case · quality of clinical reasoning · completeness of the workup relative to what was available · clarity of presentation · engagement with the panel discussion.

Winners are awarded separately in the adult and paediatric streams.
